Question about HP G5 Universal Dock

I ordered the HP G5 Universal Dock thinking it would be compatible with my MacBook Pro 2020 with Intel Core i7 and two external displays. The Apple website states that this model supports two external displays. However, my MacBook Pro only recognises one screen and displays the same image on both screens. Is there a solution to this problem or should I return the docking station and order another model, e.g. from Belkin or OWC?

Unfortunately, it seems that this does not work. This is due to the Mac and not the docking station itself.

With everything I know: send it back and buy something else. If testing is an option: For M1/M2/... Macs there is a software that brings DisplayPort (DisplayLink, https://www.synaptics.com/products...) features to the Mx Macs. I can't say whether it runs on the Intel Mac (it might) and with which features.
