Question about Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Key Plus Gen 2
I have just had my key replaced under warranty today. When I bought it 1 year ago, I read on the internet that it was supposed to have a backup battery installed. It was nowhere in the specs. The key also never shut down in a controlled manner in the event of a power failure. Unfortunately, at the time I read this, it was already in Thailand. We took it with us this year due to a defective HDD. As I said, just received the new one; same story. Switches off immediately. Is there a battery installed or not? Many thanks for any information

There is no longer a battery in the newer models. I had also bought one and it turned off directly. I asked the dealer and got the following answer:
"the product manager had enquired once and only now received a reply.
The following was written to us:
Ubiquiti no longer used the battery from model year 2022 onwards because the batteries became very warm due to the high heat in the housing and inflated.
This is a safety risk and also caused many RMAs, so Ubiquiti has solved the problem by removing the battery.
You now need an external UPS with the new models if you want to operate the device without interruption."
