I have just tried it on my own, although my wool carpet is more like 2-2.5cm high. With this one, the robot goes to the edge and then the front touch sensor is triggered which makes it go back and go somewhere else. Also, it probably won't work on your carpet as the brushes would get caught under the carpet if it were to drive up onto the carpet. If you wanted to make sure that the robot would not get caught in the carpet, I can confirm that. If you wanted the robot to vacuum the carpet as well, the nature of the carpet makes that almost impossible anyway.
