How is effective battery life doing compared to Canon EOS 5D Mark III?

Battery life is definitely no worse than the mkIII. I use the grip and have never had to change the batteries when shooting 500 - 1000 frames in a day. The raw files are also much better once you stop Lightroom setting contrast at -20
