Hi, does it make sense to use this rf100-500 with EOS R10 or not, thanks for your answers.
In principle, the RF 100-500mm L can be used on the EOS R10 without any problems (equivalent APS-C focal length range 160-800mm), but as a full-frame lens it is significantly heavier and more expensive than an APS-C lens, such as the RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM, which, however, provides a shorter equivalent focal length range of 88-336mm and is not an L lens.
In terms of image quality and with a view to a possible later switch to full-frame format, the RF 100-500mm L may well make sense - on the R5 with 45 MPx full-frame format, I have only very good results over the entire focal length range and almost right into the corners.
On the R10, the focal length corresponds to 160 - 800 mm. If you have the use case for the lens, there is nothing to be said against this fine piece of glass.
The R10 is a simpler/smaller body and you may often hear that the lens is exaggerated on this camera. But good glass always shows in the pictures: I well remember the first time I shot with a rented L lens on my then EOS 20D - what a difference!
But then again: Do you really need the focal length? Yes? Then go for it! :-)
