Hi all, I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch Retina eraly 2015. And now I have this monitor at home and I bought this display port cable ( Lindy CROMO DisplayPort <-> Mini DisplayPort Cable (1m, Midrange) ). My problem: When I connect my Macbook (with power supply) via Displayport to mini Displayport I have no signal. Thanks for any answer in advance. L-

Thanks for the tip about version 1.1. I had the same problem with my Lenovo PC. I changed the Samsung monitor to version 1.1 and it works now.

A customer wrote to us directly by email:

I had the same problem (my notebook is a Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon 5th generation).

The solution:

First connect the monitor to the HDMI socket using the HDMI cable supplied. This is how the connection with the monitor worked.
Then in the SAMSUNG menu / System / DisplayPort Ver. change the default setting "Version 1.2" to "Version 1.1". After that, the connection also worked with the display port.

Of course, finding the solution once again took a lot of time and trouble.

Samsung should either change the start-up setting to "Version 1.1" or at least make a note in a Quick Installation Guide about a possible version problem. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the monitor.

Basically, however, the display responds, or a connection seems to be available?
I had similar problems with my PC. In the display settings, I had to manually select "extend these displays". even after a restart, the display can no longer be recognised for a short time or become a secondary screen if I switch it on before the login field appears. a bit tedious, but after the first setup, it is actually no longer a problem.
