Hello, I would like to know if this PC has a 10 Gbps SFP+ network card whose controller is compatible with the XGS-PON ONU module (WTD RTXM166-702). My aim is to use this PC as a direct replacement for my Swisscom router. The project involves installing the Proxmox hypervisor and virtualising a router under OpenWrt via a VM. For optimum performance, I plan to use PCIe passthrough to assign the SFP+ network card directly to the OpenWrt VM. This will allow me to connect the Swisscom fibre directly, configuring the DHCP client (Option 60 - Vendor Class Identifier) as well as the MAC address cloning required for authentication on the XGS-PON tree. This installation is also intended to support Swisscom TV. I intend to configure an IGMP proxy (IGMPv3) and IGMP Snooping on OpenWrt in order to route Multicast streams correctly to the TV boxes, without saturating the local network (LAN). This architecture will allow me to take control of my firewall and apply advanced QoS (Quality of Service) rules to manage the bandwidth of each piece of equipment.

Hello,

Yes, this barebone has 2 SFP+ 10 Gbps network ports. The integrated controllers are compatible with standard SFP+ modules, potentially including the XGS-PON ONU module (WTD RTXM166-702) for a Swisscom direct fibre connection, as they support 10 Gbps transmission via fibre.

For your project with Proxmox and PCIe passthrough to an OpenWrt VM, this is feasible: the internal PCIe x16 slot (up to PCIe 4.0 x8) allows direct allocation of a network card, but the onboard SFP+ ports are integrated into the motherboard (standard 10Gbase-SR/LR/CR controllers, aggregation and high-performance compatible). No specific details on exact compatibility with Swisscom XGS-PON authentication (DHCP option 60, MAC cloning), but the network specs (65 Gbps total, IGMP supportable via OS) are suitable for IGMPv3 proxy, snooping and QoS over OpenWrt, including Swisscom TV multicast.

Check the precise compatibility of the ONU module with the SFP+ controller (typically Aquantia/Marvell) via Minisforum support or Proxmox community tests for onboard NIC pass-through.
