Question about TP-Link Deco X50-5G (1-pack)

Hello, I might be interested in this product. Reading the answers to previous questions, I'm not 100% sure about the responses. My use case would be for a chalet in Valais where fiber optic isn't available, and I'd like to get a 5G subscription (Yallo, Sunrise, Galaxus, Wingo, Mucho, depending on coverage) with a SIM card to have internet and put this SIM card (nano) into this router. However, the chalet is on 3 floors with an annex in the garden, and I'd also like to have an internet connection everywhere. The router will be placed on the 2nd floor to catch the 5G network. I was wondering what other products I should buy to extend the connection from this router to the annex and the rooms on the 1st floor, and how to know if it's compatible with this Deco X50-5G router. Also, is there by any chance a black version of this product? Thank you very much for your help and advice.

The Deco X50-5G should generally be well suited for your project. 😊To extend the internet connection to the other floors and the annex, you can use a Powerline Mesh system – provided that all floors and the annex are on the same power grid. In this case, the Devolo Magic 2 WiFi next Multiroom Kit would be a suitable solution. The adapters use the power lines for data transmission and simultaneously set up a Mesh Wi-Fi. Since the internet connection in your case is via a 5G SIM card, the mobile connection is in most cases the limiting factor and not the Powerline connection. Depending on reception and tariff, the maximum speed of the Powerline is therefore often not fully utilized. If the areas are not connected to the same power grid or the electrical installation is unsuitable, additional Deco Mesh devices with a wired network connection would be the more reliable alternative.

If a slightly simpler and cheaper solution is sufficient for you, a Wi-Fi repeater can also be a good alternative. TP-Link RE550

Unfortunately, we are currently not aware of a black version of the Deco X50-5G.
