Hello I have an HP EliteBook 840 G6 notebook that requires 65W of power, which is exactly the amount of power that can be drawn from the monitor via USB C according to the specifications. I don't want a separate charging cable for the laptop. I want to work with two monitors and have tried to read up on daisy chaining. What confuses me is the fact that there is only one USB C port on the monitor. If I need this port on monitor 1 to connect to the laptop, it doesn't have a second USB C port to connect monitor 1 to monitor 2. Accordingly, I would have to connect monitor 1 and monitor 2 via DisplayPort cable. Now I am unsure whether this sequence really works without problems and is recognised by the laptop: Laptop - USB-C Monitor 1 - DisplayPort Monitor 1 - DisplayPort Monitor 2. Can any of you help me with this? That would be super nice!
Hello Crufener
This is exactly the arrangement I use with these screens. It works perfectly.
Laptop is charged via the screen and I have all USB devices connected to the monitors as well. So no need for a docking station anymore.
So connecting the laptop with USB-C to the screen and linking the two screens with Display Port is possible.
