Hello, Could you please tell me which switches are the quietest, tactile or linear? I'm asking this question because I want to buy this keyboard not for gaming but for photo editing! I know it's weird but I absolutely want RGB on my keyboard! Thank you in advance for your answers. Laurent

Helpful answer

Hello
No difference in noise between the two but I would like to point out that the Roccat Vulcan 121 AIMO is rather noisy, like all gaming keyboards

I have 2 Roccat Vulcan 120/121 ... noise wise it's the same, but I have a small preference for the 121 on the general feel of the keys and the dark plate has less reflection of the keys... you can distinguish better if you put different coloured keys next to each other

I work on LR, Photoshop and others.... I love the programmable RGB, it's very useful to memorize shortcuts :-)

I confirm that the Vulcan is very loud :) I wear a mcro-headset all the time so I hardly hear it, but with nothing on my ears, you have to like it. For less noisy, better turn to hybrid switches.
The RGB demand is perfectly normal though :D

Hello
Here are the characteristics of a tactile switch
The linear or tactile type: A tactile switch will have 2 different hardnesses along its travel. The first few millimetres will be soft, while at the end of the stroke a hard feeling will be felt. This characteristic makes it possible to know by touch if the key has been pressed enough to send the command.
In contrast, a linear key will require the same amount of pressure throughout its travel without this "activation feeling".

In general, touch keys are best used for typing, but can also be very pleasant for gaming. It's up to you to decide which feel is best for you.
