Question about Swisscom WLAN Box 3
Hello, What about the compatibility of routers with this access point? I have a router from MBudget - the technician from MBudget cannot give me any information about the compatibility of the router with this access point. Can anyone help me with what to look out for ? I have a small DSL connection with max. 80 Mbit/s download/20 Mbit/s upload. Thank you very much !
I wanted to use the WLAN-Box 3 in combination with my FRITZ!Box 7583. According to Swisscom technical support, the WLAN Box 3 only works in combination with the Internet Box 2 and all newer models. You can see the box in the LAN and also access it. But after logging in (1234) you will only see an info page or a page with 3 options: Restart, Reset and Firmware (FW) Update. My FW version is 13.20.15 and I believe there is now an official 14.10.21. I don't know whether this allows manual configuration. In any case, you can't even update the FW because you also need a Swisscom router a la Internet-Box 2 and newer. Too bad, I would have liked the device. I'll be sending it back. A compatibility note from Galaxus would be helpful.
