My MacBook 13" 2019 works perfectly with only the USB-C cable and also charges (the monitor can charge up to 90W via USB-C).

My Lenovo is also still charged by the USB-C. It should also work with the Mac.

As far as I know, the USB-C Thunderbolt port delivers 65W maximum output power. For my Thinkpad T480s, that's enough to charge. You can find out what power the MacBook Pro needs from your charger.
