Hello together Does anyone know if you have to install the external IR receiver? The part does not work for me. :(

I didn't need the external IR receiver until now. Now I tried it today and plugged the receiver into the back of ir-rec and it worked without any problems. If you have a clear view of the unit, you don't need the part.

There is an external IR receiver. If your remote control does not react, check briefly with your mobile phone camera if you see a beam.
