Hello, is this a good choice for an external ssd? If so, which case would you recommend?

I have the SSD with 4TB as an external drive in use with a UGREEN CM559 enclosure. It works well and the temperature remains within limits. But the original WD Dashboard software does not recognise the SSD with the UGREEN enclosure.

as long as you make sure you get enough cooling, sure. this means metal case. if you plan to change SSDs more often, there are tool-less cases. personally, I´m happy with ugreen.

Attention! I have the MIT heatspreader, hence this high case. It should simply be able to deliver at least 20GB/s. More is always better. And yes, the SSD gets hot, so make sure it is well cooled!

Contrary to my fellow commentators, I am of the opinion that this SSD is very well suited with a suitable enclosure:

I wouldn't use the SSD externally, it's too bad. I'd rather use a Samsung T7 as an external SSD.

The SSD is far too powerful for an external housing and would constantly overheat.
