Has the problem been solved in the meantime that wired only routes about 500MBit throughput instead of the available 1000MBit with fibre?
Since I have a 250 mBit per second, which is also achieved, I cannot answer this question.
The thing probably just doesn't have enough Cpu power for 1 Gbit/s. For your application, an EgdeRouter would definitely be the better choice.
