Has anyone had any experience with the aperture? I'm not sure if the aperture is enough for taking photos in the morning and at dusk. Should I go for a fixed focal length with a wider aperture? Thank you for your answers.
You do realise that in terms of light, the aperture is only part of the story. A fixed focal length of 400mm brings you a maximum of one or two apertures (4.0 or 2.8). But then we are also talking about three, four or five times the price! In addition, the range of sharpness becomes smaller (this may or may not be desirable). In the lower range (100-200mm) there are of course affordable alternatives, but then you lack the focal length.
If you reach the limit with the aperture, you simply have to lower the shutter speed or raise the ISO... It's very simple.
