Good morning,
I have 2 Nest expiring and I should replace them, I have read that Google Nest Protect will no longer be supported by google and that google will abide to the Frist Alert alarm system, my question is, buying this product since the support no longer provided by Google is still relevant? given also the expiry date of the product's functionality (7 years V1, 10 years V2) this entails checking the date of manufacture of the product, to avoid ending up with stock that is already old. Is there a product with the same functions on the market? Thank you!
We currently have no information that the device/support will be discontinued. Google also continues to sell the devices in its own web shop. It is best to ask Google directly if you are unsure.
Of course, we endeavour to ensure a reasonable storage time so that the shelf life of the products is still within a reasonable range when they are delivered. However, due to the autonomy of our warehouse, it is not possible to carry out a precise individual check before dispatch.
We have many other smart smoke detectors, you can find them here:
DigitecThank you for your reply to an article I found on the net:
The least surprising news this week is that Google has announced the discontinuation of the Nest Protect smart smoke and carbon monoxide detector and the Nest x Yale smart lock. Nest Protect, long one of the best smart smoke detectors on the market, has been hard to find for a while now, with users complaining on Reddit that the device is unavailable or that the Google Store limits its purchase to one and is slow to ship.
