Provided your mainboard has bifurcation, i.e. you can set the PCIe divider at 16x to 4x4x4x4x in the BIOS. A few x99 workstation mainboards may have this, the consumer boards rather not. If you do not have bifurcation, your mainboard only recognises the first NVME. The old HP Z440 or Fujitsu workstations LGA2011-v3 socket supported this for example. I have tested this! If your mainboard does not support bifurcation, there is only the expensive alternative with its own controller: HighPoint SSD7505 for example. I hope I could help.
