Does this go on the Sony Alpha 6300 as the lens is full frame and I can't find another 85mm E-mount APC.

It depends on what you want to do and what you expect.
The A6300 is a great camera, small, handy and light. The A7II has the larger sensor.
However, image quality is very good with both and you don't have to worry about that.
The A7II has more background blur due to the larger sensor and better ISO performance in the dark.
In terms of menu and settings, they are virtually the same. Only the buttons

and wheels are not identical.
Here I can also recommend the A6300 with a good conscience. You don't automatically take better pictures with a more expensive camera. At some point you will notice if the camera is not enough.
It is clearly also a question of budget... Sony has a more "budget-friendly" range for APS-C.
For portraits you are already very well served with the 85mm. Then there's the 55mm, which I've had myself and which is sensational (85.5 for APS-C).
For travelling and as an "always on" lens I can recommend the 16-70mm.
I recommend paying a little less for the body but investing in a good lens ;)

Hi Sherlock! Fits without problems. Full-frame lenses fit on APS-C cameras. This simply means that instead of 85mm you have calculated a 127.5mm and full-frame.
APS-C lenses, on the other hand, do not always fit full-frame. With some, the dark section is simply cropped and then you only have +/- 10MP (depending on the camera).
With others it is not even mechanically possible to screw APS-C lenses

onto a full-frame.
The big advantage is that with APS-C you can benefit from both lens lines.

Well, not categorically better suited since the systems are almost the same. In terms of budget, yes.
They differ in ergonomics, design and sensor. But none of them is easier or harder to start with. If you also like filming, I would even prefer the A6300.
