From the monitor with the DP out to a TV with HDMI does not work. Can anyone tell me what I need to change? The monitor has the picture from a MacBook via USB-C. This works perfectly. But when I wanted to go from the monitor with the DP out to the TV with HDMI, it didn't work? But it should actually? Anyway, the DP out is made for that, isn't it? Do I need an adapter or is it not possible because the input signal comes via ISB-C? So far I just have a cable that goes from DP to HDMI. I haven't found out with it yet. Why does it not work? Many thanks in advance.
DP and HDMI only work one way: DP (notebook) -> HDMI (screen). It does not work the other way round. You can also solve it with a docking station in between. Greetings and good luck!
Please google "daisy chain" about display port. The subject is too complex to discuss here in detail. In principle, you need a cable from the computer DP output to the DP input of the monitor in order to pass the signal on to the DP input of the second monitor with a DP cable at the DP output of this monitor. The extent to which adapter cables can be used here (e.g. USB-C to DP) seems to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. In any case, the DP daisy chain setting must be activated in the options of the first monitor. I hope I have been able to help you a little further, Greetings Ceb
I assume that you want the following.
MacBook to Lenovo (1st screen) and from Lenovo to TV (2nd screen).
This won't work because the MacBook doesn't support daisy chain.
This will only work with displays with multiple Thunderbolt ports.
If you want to use an additional display like the TV, you have to connect it to the MacBook as well.
Unfortunately, this is a Mac problem that I also have to deal with.
If you find out anything else, let me know too ;)
