Does WiFi Calling work with Digitect connect (Sunrise) with this device?

Yes it works. Huawei has a problem with the network settings and does not transmit them to the phone correctly. Put the SIM card in another phone (not Huawei) and wait until the network settings are updated. Then put the SIM card back into the Huawei smartphone and it works. So no problem.
