Does this offer also work with a connection where the fibre optic network would be available in front of the house but is not yet in the flat (no special connection box (OTO number available) / only conventional connection)? If so, what speed (upload / download) can be expected?
As far as I know, the router is connected directly to the OTO socket. If you do not yet have an OTO socket, it will probably not work as your address is not yet officially connected to the fibre optic network.
The best way to check your address is to use Swisscom's fibre optic check (see link below). This will tell you when fibre is available or who you can contact to get the connection.
If you cannot find a fibre socket in your home, this does not necessarily mean that a fibre optic connection is not possible. Often the fibre optic cable has not yet reached your home.
So if we ask you in the Cockpit for "Communicate number" and you can't find it, you can let us know with one click. We will then check your case and clarify for you whether a socket is already available or whether a new one needs to be installed.
No fibre socket available
A more extensive check is carried out after the order is placed. Depending on the situation, you will be sent the next steps by e-mail. Important: you can cancel your order or cancel your subscription at any time.
Please note that the construction of a fibre optic socket requires the consent of the owner and / or management. It is advisable to clarify in advance whether they agree to the installation of a fibre optic socket.
The costs are not covered by us. If costs are incurred, you will be informed in advance. Depending on the situation, these costs may be borne by Swisscom / Sunrise as part of the basic fibre optic expansion. Otherwise, the costs must be borne by the owner or the tenant. The latter applies if your owner refuses to bear the costs.
