Coated surfaces? Does the board have rubberised or "velvet" coated surfaces anywhere, as is sometimes the case with "mice"? Or is the surface (apart from the palm rest) "only" equipped with the usual "hard plastic" (i.e. without special "soft" coatings)? Thanks for the feedback.

What you mean is so-called "soft lacquer". This is also popular in the automotive sector. It wears off over time and becomes crumbly and greasy. No, the keyboard doesn't have that.

I had some reservations about the palm rest at the beginning because it looked like a somewhat coarse fabric to me in the pictures. But that's just a print. The structure of the pad is completely flat. Inside it should be foam, as has already been written. The cover feels very comfortable. Similar to the "rubberised" backs of the older HTC phones. Soft and somehow "very slightly rubbery". Nice and grippy, so you don't slip off, but not at all sticky. More like very soft, not too treated leather. Kind of like the steering wheel in very classy cars.

The palm rest feels a bit rubbery. I think that is what is meant by coating. But it's not like a rubber ball :) the rest of the keyboard has no special surface.

The keys are normal plastic, the keyboard housing has a matt look and is very valuable in my opinion, but is not specially "rubberised".
