Can this monitor be mounted instead of being put on a stand? If so, does one have to buy some mounting device separately?

Yes, that's what I did myself, I mounted it on a wall bracket, which requires a separate device. The standards are VESA 100*100.

A wall bracket was included with my monitor. However, I can't judge how practical this is as my monitor is standing on the stand.
