The watch can wake you up with the "Smart Wake" function, which means it selects a 10-minute window before the set alarm time to wake you up in a lighter sleep phase. This makes waking up more pleasant. This function is activated directly on the watch.
The alarm works independently of the smartphone as it is set and triggered directly on the watch. So you don't need a smartphone in your room for the alarm clock to work.
