Can the LG 31.5-inch UltraFine ™ Ergo Monitor with HDR10, IPS, and UHD 4K resolution (32UN880-B) monitor be connected to a powered hub via the USB C connection. I am worried that since the USB C port on the back of the LG monitor offers 60 W of charging power, there will be a problem. Can the power out from the monitor be disabled? Would it automatically sense that it is attached to a USB hub (for data) and turn off the power delivery? The hub I’m considering buying is the is the Razer Thunderbolt™ 4 Dock Chroma (RC21-01690100-R3G1), which only has USB C (Thunderbolt 4) monitor connections.
The Power Delivery standard needs a handshake. The consumer tells the power supply how much power it would like. If they can't agree or if there is no communication, no power will be supplied rsp. only regular 5Volt USB-Power. But you don't have to worry about that, the docking station can handle this. That's a common situation.
