Can I use it to activate an unactivated version of Windows 11 Home? (I have assembled a new PC where Windows is missing on it).

Helpful answer

You can only have one Win11 active on your PC. If you now enter the key for Win11 Pro, your Win11 Home will be gone and you will have Win11 Pro on it. Which is generally the better choice;-)

Good morning

Attention, this is an OEM licence, it does not support a direct product key change via Settings - Activation - Change Product Key.
If you try to change the product key directly, you will get the error message "The product key you entered does not work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different product key. (0xc004f050)"
OEM licences are intended for new PCs without operating systems.

Digitec customer support will not help you with this and refers you to the manufacturer Microsoft, and you don't necessarily get help from Microsoft either, as far as I can tell from the English product review on Digitec.

There is a trick to switch from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro with an OEM licence:
1. start the PC and then disconnect the Internet connection (WLAN off, Ethernet unplugged).
2. instead of entering the product key of the OEM licence, you can use an RTM key from Microsoft:
VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
Click Next and Windows will install the additional features. Then Windows restarts. 4.
4. after Windows has restarted, shut down the PC once again.
5. after restarting, you will now have an inactive Windows 11 Pro. Now you have to activate the Internet connection again and enter the OEM licence product key under Settings - Activation and restart Windows again. Windows 11 Pro is then active.

I found these instructions myself on the Internet at PC-Welt.de. I was able to upgrade my Surface Laptop Studio purchased here to Windows 11 Pro in this way. However, I do not accept any liability when trying to convert Windows 11 Home to Pro.

Greetings Adi

Yes and no because this is a Windows 11 Pro.
So you get a Windows 11 Pro licence, the 11 Home should be a bit cheaper.
