It depends on a test. In my case, the dongle connects an older HP computer with my stereo system via a Logitec Bluetooth audio receiver. Distance approx. 5 metres. Works perfectly.
I quickly tried it out on the older Samsung TV at my house. The problem is that the TV itself does not know the concept of Bluetooth. It is therefore not possible to select devices. You don't connect to the dongle but to the device that supports Bluetooth but simply has no physical Bluetooth component.
