Hello together My 14-year-old son would like to start flying FPV drones. He is reliable and technically meticulous and keen to try things out - unfortunately, we parents are much less so 🙂 That's why we're leaning towards a complete package to get started, so that all the components fit together well and it works as easily as possible. We have two questions about this: Is it possible to replace the battery in this set to achieve a longer flight time outdoors? Is there a similar product that you would recommend for beginners? Our budget is around CHF 350. Thank you very much in advance for your help! Annina

It's more for indoors and there's no room for bigger batteries. I have 10 and I change them as I go along.
It flies very well

Its a great product for beginners, i got this as my first kit (as an adult) after practicing for 10 hours in the simulator. After a few months I went on to build my own drones (I have like 6 now) and I used both analog and digital systems.

The batteries are standard BT2.0 connector-batteries from betafpv, you could put a 400 mah battery but honestly its overkill on such a small drone. If you want better flight performance, you could go for a betafpv air75 drone (around 100chf), but you would only be able to fly in manual and angle mode (no position hold like the cetus x). The controller is basic but does the job, i recommend the radiomaster pocket though with this budget (70-80 chf). The goggles are not bad but again because of your budget and because you want outdoors go for the eachine ev800d or the cobra SD (100-150 chf). Im not sure if Im allowed to mention other websites, but you could probably find them on fpvracing.ch, similar websites, directly from the manufacturer (china), or aliexpress/banggood (but they take like 2 weeks).

In any case, happy flying! And let him practice in the simulator!! (Liftoff on steam, velocidrone, uncrashed on steam)
