The
Turtlebot 4 is produced by Clearpath Robotics from Canada and operated under the OSRF (Open Source Robotics Foundation), as an official ROS 2.0 development platform. Like the Turtlebot 1, this robot is again based on a chassis from iRobot?, the so-called Create? 3 platform.

Like its predecessors, the new TB4 also comes with a comprehensive software base, which should provide a quick and easy introduction to ROS, especially the ROS 2.0 framework. In addition to a complete SLAM & navigation stack, the user can also benefit from a very good gazebo simulation. Because of this, fewer Turtlebots can be used for teaching at the beginning, since the simulation environment can be used for theoretical content first.

Difference Turtlebot4 Lite & Pro

The three main differences between the TB4 Pro and the TB4 Lite are as follows:

These are a pair of hobby gearmotors from DAGU. These gearmotors are the same ones recommended for use in the Shadow Chassis and offer a cheap and easy-to-use setup to get your wheels turning. Each Hobby Gearmotor also possess a 9mm long output on a straight axis.

These gearmotors require a voltage of 4.5V with a no load current of 190mA while possessing a gearbox ratio of 48:1 and a wheel speed of 140 RPM unloaded. Every motor order is sold in packs of two.
