Have had the notebook for 4 days now and it is great fun, but the CPU reaches a constant temperature of 95°C to 100°C under heavy load. Reapplying thermal paste did not help. Am now in discussion with Digitec customer service to see if this is possibly a manufacturing defect. I will update this review as soon as I know more.
Otherwise, I particularly like the HDR screen. Very good brightness and tremendously good colors! QHD and 165Hz are a super combo and I'm thrilled!
UPDATE: Digitec customer support says that a constant temperature of 100 ° C under load is normal (even if this is regularly the case for several hours, such as when gaming), as long as no frequent bluescreens occur. Well then. I had this assured again on clearly formulated demand, in case I could refer to it later, if a heat damage would occur. If you have the same problem, I would advise you to do the same. This way you are covered by Digitec.

That's rather cool... I'm thinking of switching to the notebook... but the 100 degrees aren't really cool... isn't that harmful for the cpu? 90ok but 100 is really massive 😯
Updated my review with the new information from Digitec customer support. Apparently, these temperatures are OK as long as there are no bluescreens. If you still want to change your mind, however, I would definitely take a look at the exact technical data of the notebooks. The GPU on this laptop draws up to 165+ watts. Many other manufacturers have set a maximum of 125 or even lower. It is also helpful to take a look at the power supply's performance. The power supply of this Lenovo Legion has 300 watts. The Scar from ROG (ASUS), for example, has only 240 watts with an identical CPU and GPU. Consequently, it has less power. So keep your eyes open!
I got the Scar 17 as a transition until this one arrives...the temps are mega and the performance is also nice...but I really want the 165watts + that's why the change 😄 and also the display is so much nicer 😊 Thank you for the answer 🙏
Hello Andreas
I got mine today (Windows Home version). I did a 5 min AIDA64 stress test and only got a maximum of 92.8 °C. How did you test?
Greetings
Well, I have the version for 2699 CHF. the only difference is more memory as far as I know.
Anyway, the temps are pretty high for me too. 90-95 degrees, then the CPU usually throttles a little. Interestingly, the GPU is not affected as much by the heat development.
I also had the previous model y740 with RTX2080. Here too, the CPU temperatures (i7 9750) were recently 92-95 degrees, but everything was stable.
I think that's why the temperatures here seem to be so high. considering the performance and compactness of the device....very good performance despite everything.
