Features missing for home cinema

We have been using the Epson TW650 in our shared living room for almost 2 weeks now and are very satisfied with the picture quality, brightness and volume. Despite large windows (without direct sunlight), we can operate the projector in Eco mode with reduced brightness. In normal mode, the fan is unpleasantly loud and therefore rather unusable.

I have to deduct one star for the connectivity and the included software. Unfortunately, the software supplied by Epson (for streaming from PC, mobile phone, tablet) is very outdated, very minimalistic and awkward to use. After a short test, we uninstalled all apps and software and ordered a Chromecast, which allows us to stream content directly from our iPad or mobile phone.

Another disadvantage is the integrated speakers and the lack of an audio output (which is to be expected for a business projector). The speakers are sufficient for listening to news or documentaries, but completely unsuitable for films or music. This problem can be solved with an HDMI audio splitter, for example, to which you can then connect better speakers. more
