The GS1100-16E is equipped with 16 Gigabit ports and is particularly suitable for use in smaller network environments that do not require management, such as offices. Depending on requirements, the switch can be installed in a 19-inch rack or on a desktop. The switch impresses with its fanless operation and very low power consumption of just 8 watts. The device complies with the new IEEE 802.3az draft standard. Thanks to its non-blocking backplane, prioritised Layer 2 traffic can be forwarded using 802.1p Class of Service queues. To enhance performance, the switch also supports jumbo frames of up to 9 KB.
