Zoom Uac-8

Expand your USB 3.0 capable Mac or Windows computer – or even your iPad – with the rack-mountable UAC-8, adding 18 inputs and 20 outputs. Connect microphones, line sources, or instruments and produce your first masterpiece. Or take the UAC-8 on stage and benefit from its high-resolution audio playback of up to 24-bit / 192 kHz.

The UAC-8 utilizes the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed protocol, enabling transfer rates that are ten times faster than USB 2.0 and six times faster than FireWire 800. The result? Minimal latency (2.0 ms roundtrip @ 96 kHz / 32 samples) enhances performance with your DAW. The stable data stream is immune to computer jitter (timing fluctuations), making the use of an external clock source unnecessary.

The UAC-8 features high-end components such as the AKM AK5388 analog-to-digital and AKM AK4413 digital-to-analog converters. Additionally, the UAC-8 supports quadruple upsampling for both analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion. At a sampling rate of 44.1 or 48 kHz, the signal is actually converted at a resolution of 176.4 or 192 kHz.

This reduces aliasing effects during A/D conversion and improves transparency and sound quality during D/A conversion.

In standalone mode, the UAC-8 can also operate as an eight-channel microphone preamp as well as an A/D and D/A converter without being connected to a computer.
