Product details
In the autumn of 1900, Rilke paid a long visit to the graphic artist and painter Heinrich Vogeler in Worpswede near Bremen and met the members of the artists' circle there, including the sculptress Clara Westhoff, whom he married the following spring. In his collection of essays "Worpswede", completed in 1902, Rilke portrayed members of this artists' colony such as Fritz Mackensen, Otto Modersohn, Fritz Overbeck, Hans am Ende and Vogeler himself. Shortly afterwards, Rilke left his wife and their child to write his famous monograph on Rodin in Paris.
