Installation tip: For the Wella HS40, loosen the hex screw on the cutting head and carefully remove the black on/off switch. Under the sliding switch, two black retaining tabs will appear on the left and right sides of the housing. Carefully press these two retaining tabs into the housing, and then the internal components should be able to slide out. On the inner back side, you will see the battery with the connector contacts. Please gently push the old battery out of the circuit board (you may use a small screwdriver as a lifting aid). Remember the positive and negative terminals beforehand!.

The battery with the plug contacts can then be seen on the inner rear side. Carefully push the old battery out of the circuit board (use a small screwdriver to help lift it out if necessary). Please note plus and minus before doing so! After replacing the battery, carefully push the inner workings back into the housing, hook the slide switch back in, secure the shaving head with a screw, carry out a brief function test and then charge the battery - done! Please always charge the battery before storing it if it is not used for a longer period of time in order to avoid a deep discharge of the battery.
