Product details
The 12mm/3.1 is a full-frame fisheye lens that delivers outstanding performance across its entire surface. With a diagonal field of view of approximately 180° on full-frame cameras, it offers an expansive image area. It is perfectly suited for wide shots, interiors, and tight spaces, as well as for reporting in such environments. The lens brings the subject into the right light. With a maximum aperture of T 3.1, it has a large initial light intensity. Due to its short focal length and low reproduction scale, it features an exceptionally large depth of field. For videography, the aperture can be smoothly adjusted from 3.1 to 22, and the focus adjustment is soft and easy to operate, allowing for smooth focus pulling, especially during video recordings. The aperture and focus rings are equipped with a gear ring, optimizing them for use with follow focus systems, which simplifies filming. For better readability, the distance and aperture scales are arranged on the side. The lens is internally focused with a minimum focusing distance of approximately 20 centimeters. The optical design, consisting of 12 lenses in 8 groups, is highly complex and promises excellent imaging performance. The multi-coating of all lenses used in the lens is a standard feature of walimex pro, allowing for higher light transmission, better color reproduction, and increased contrast. Additionally, a glass surface is treated with the NCS Nano Coating System, promising even more brilliant imaging. Save time in post-processing. Many lens errors, such as distortion, edge softness, or vignetting, occur at the outer areas of the image. When using a lens designed for full-frame on an APS-C sensor camera, these areas are not utilized, thus achieving maximum quality. This eliminates the need for additional post-processing time to correct lens errors.
