With a high resolution of 12-bit singleturn and 12-bit + 18-bit multiturn, the WDGA series is ideal for applications where high measurement accuracy is crucial alongside mechanical robustness. The interface provides the complete position value for evaluation, consisting of the combination of the singleturn position with the corresponding multiturn position based on the number of rotations. Despite the enormous resolution, the maintenance-free rotary encoder operates without a gearbox and buffer battery. This guarantees a long lifespan for the mechanics and is environmentally friendly. With its extremely high bearing loads of up to 220 N radially and 120 N axially, it operates reliably and accurately for years.
The absolute value encoders WDGA are equipped with a two-color LED (red/green). Through differentiated color changes and varying blinking frequencies, important status signals are directly readable via the LED. Thus, integrating the absolute value encoders WDGA into the existing CAN bus topology is quick and easy.
Operating principle of EnDra technology: To capture the number of rotations and the direction of rotation, the WDGA encoders do not require a mechanical gearbox. Instead, the rotations are determined using an energy wire (EnDra). A permanent magnet accumulates enough energy in the wire so that at a defined position, the information "rotation" and "direction of rotation" is transmitted to the evaluation electronics. An external power supply, such as a battery, is not required for this. Thus, the patented system operates completely autonomously.
