Verbatim's optical media for professional use feature stricter specifications compared to the requirements set by standardization bodies. These stricter specifications ensure better compatibility with playback and recording devices, resulting in higher recording quality, longer archiving times, and improved readability.
You can identify Verbatim's optical media for professional use by the DataLifePlus branding. Double/Dual Layer is a writable disk with a storage capacity of 8.5 GB on one side (2.6 GB for 8 cm disks). It meets the +RW Alliance specifications (Double Layer) and DVD Forum specifications (Dual Layer).
The Double/Dual Layer recording layer is made possible by the development of a new substrate layer that sits between the recording layers, allowing both layers to be written to by a laser. When the first layer is full, recording continues on the second layer.
DVD+R DL is a writable disk with a storage capacity of 8.5 GB and meets the +RW Alliance specifications. The Wide White Inkjet disk has a printable white surface up to the hub and a printable diameter ranging from 21 to 118 mm.
