The Ultimaker Silicone Nozzle Cover is the cover for the print nozzles. It prevents excess material from being pushed into the print head. The Silicone Nozzle Cover is considered a maintenance part of the Ultimaker S5. The wear varies depending on the usage of the printer. With an annual printing time of 1600 hours, it is recommended to replace the nozzle cover quarterly. However, you can also assess the need for replacement based on the visual condition of the silicone cover. If the silicone has started to discolor to a brownish hue, the nozzle cover should be renewed.
