The mFi Controller allows for executing preset actions based on inputs or sensors. For example, fans can be turned on and off via WiFi in response to high temperatures, or lights can be activated by motion or darkness.

Ubiquiti offers a variety of sensors that can be connected to the mPort. The sensors connected to the mPort use a standard RJ45 cable, except for the MFI-DS, which connects via a distribution connector.

Two mPort models are available for integrating sensors into the mFi network. The mPort-Serial features a standard serial DB9 connector or a distribution connector. Both models come with built-in WiFi and Ethernet.
