Almost two centuries have passed since the four kingdoms made peace. A deceptive peace, as the Dimag know, because humanity's greatest enemy continues to exist underground.
Runa, a little girl growing up in a remote farming village, tragically loses her mother and then her father when raiders attack her village. She manages to escape and is soon taken in by four strange warriors, each harbouring their own secret. Initially accepted into the group rather reluctantly, she soon disrupts their lives. Together they set off on a hunt for the criminals, who are now terrifying the entire province. Runa soon realises that there is no escape from the danger she thinks she has escaped. It takes.
