Telestar Digibit R1 – New Ways for Satellite Distribution:
Satellite distributions are nothing special – multiple participants are supplied with digital satellite signals via a multi-LNB or a multiswitch, allowing each participant access to the full range of channels. The Telestar Digibit R1 builds on this by adding a crucial factor to the distribution of digital television signals: the network. To this day, television over the Internet, known as IPTV, is considered a method of distributing TV content and movies via the WWW and thus stands in contrast to traditional transmission methods such as cable, terrestrial, or satellite – at least until now, because the Telestar Digibit R1 enables the distribution of digitally broadcast satellite signals over the home network.
Digital Sat-to-IP Converter for 4 Participants:
The principle of the transmitter is quite simple: connected to a Quattro-switch LNB or a multiswitch, the Digibit R1 converts the satellite signals into IP technology and makes them available for connection to a network router for feeding into a home network. The converted satellite signals can be distributed via LAN and/or WLAN to up to 4 network connections in the house and utilized by IPTV-capable devices. These can be so-called "clients" such as PCs, laptops, tablet PCs, smartphones (with appropriate software or app), IPTV receivers, TVs, or even gaming consoles.
Television and More:
The DLNA-compatible Telestar Digibit R1 converts DVB-S signals into a network. This is done in the best picture and sound quality, which naturally includes HDTV and Dolby Digital. If supported by the client, additional functions such as accessing teletext and EPG data, recording capabilities, or time-shifted playback of the television program can also be utilized.
