Product details

In his writings, Blechschmidt consistently addressed the topic of human embryology from the perspective of biodynamic metabolic fields and described it. His focus was on the question: How does the human form arise? Blechschmidt wrote and published exclusively in German. This was largely facilitated by a bilingual German-English volume published by Karger and through an exceptional collaboration with his co-author RF Gasser, which made his work partially accessible to an international English-speaking audience. 'The Beginnings of Human Life' was primarily written for the general public but is no longer in print. The publication of Brian Freeman's translation of 'The Ontogenetic Basis of Human Anatomy' contributed to a growing interest in Blechschmidt's ideas. Gradually, osteopaths, structural integrators, cranial practitioners, and other therapists began to appreciate his work. The aforementioned books provide both a general and a comprehensive approach to the morphological cosmos described by Blechschmidt, but are unfortunately only partially available at present. However, there are a number of overlooked scientific articles that have already been translated into English, offering a more detailed and deeper, specific insight into this thoughtful universe of form and shape. The book you have here is a compilation of some of these individual articles.
