Convert an RS232 data signal to either RS485 or RS422 with this wall-mounted, ESD-protected adapter.

The industrial RS232 to RS422/485 serial converter IC232485S is a bidirectional adapter that allows you to convert an RS232 data signal to either RS485 (2- or 4-wire) or RS422 and vice versa. It supports baud rates of up to 921.6 Kbps.

The serial port is excellent for industrial environments and offers 15 kV ESD protection for all signal pins to safeguard expensive and often sensitive control devices from electrical damage. The serial converter also features a sturdy, wall-mountable metal housing with LED indicators for power, send, and receive for easy status monitoring.

The adapter supports automatic baud rate detection as well as RS422 and RS485 mode detection, includes a built-in dip switch for manual mode selection if needed, and supports connection distances of up to 1200 meters.
