The new SEL2070G full-frame lens from Sony is a G Ultra Wide-Angle Standard Zoom lens with a constant aperture of F4. It offers optimized image quality and usability specifically for full-frame photos and videos. The design includes three ED (Extra Low Dispersion) elements, two AA (Advanced Aspherical) elements, as well as one ED (Extra Low Dispersion Aspherical) and one aspherical element, ensuring high resolution. The bokeh effect is achieved thanks to a circular aperture with 9 blades. Two complex XD (Extreme Dynamic) linear motors enable faster and more precise focusing when capturing videos and photos. The SEL2070G, a video-compatible E Mount lens from Sony, provides smooth, fast, and continuous autofocus performance during video recording, with minimized focus breathing, focus shift, and axis shift during zooming for improved image quality.

The Sony FE 4/20-70 mm G shows weaknesses at the edges at the shorter focal lengths. However, stopping down solves the problem. All in all, the result is very solid with good to very good measured values, a very attractive focal length range from 20 mm and a high utility value - clearly recommended.
.. A small weak point, if you want to call it that, is the maximum open aperture of f/4, which is available over the entire focal length range. This is more than enough in good lighting conditions, but in dim light a longer exposure time or a higher light sensitivity of the sensor must help...
