Product details
The smallest medium telephoto lens in its class. The first in the series is the standard lens 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary, and the second is the wide-angle lens 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary. The third member is now this smallest medium telephoto lens in its class: the 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary. Like the other lenses in the Contemporary product line, this lens is compact, lightweight, and still offers exceptional image quality. Thanks to Sigma's groundbreaking technologies, this lens provides just the right amount of bokeh and outstanding light intensity expected from F1.4 lenses in the medium telephoto range. This lens completes the fast series, which now consists of portable wide-angle, standard, and telephoto lenses. The smallest in its class among the F1.4 lenses in the medium telephoto range for mirrorless APS-C cameras. Sigma lenses labeled "DC" are high-performance lenses specifically designed for digital cameras with image sensors up to APS-C format. When used on cameras with larger sensors, vignetting may occur. Photographers are advised to adjust the sensor format for optimal image results, as far as the camera allows. Sigma lenses labeled "DN" are designed to provide outstanding performance on mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with a short flange distance.
