The SCALANCE SC642-2C is an industrial security device designed to protect equipment and networks in discrete manufacturing and process industries. It secures industrial communication with a firewall and VPN. Additional features include address translation (NAT/NAPT), integration with SINEMA RC, 2x combo ports (electrical or optical), 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ45, or 100 Mbit/s SFP, or 1000 Mbit/s SFP. The device is optimized for use in automation environments and meets the specific requirements of automation technology, such as easy upgrading of existing systems, simple installation, and minimal downtime in case of failure. It protects industrial automation networks from unauthorized access and allows for the establishment of a DMZ (demilitarized zone), enabling data exchange with other networks without direct access to the production network.
