The utilization categories AC-7a and AC-7b determine which loads the contactors can switch:

When mounting multiple contactors on a DIN rail, spacers should be used after every second contactor to avoid excessive heat buildup that could exceed the operating temperature. The coils are designed for 100% duty cycle, allowing them to be on 24 hours a day, and heat must be dissipated, hence a spacer is required.
