For optimal optical performance, the light flow has been specifically optimized based on the relationship of the lens glass to the position of the sensors in Sony cameras. The well-crafted 50 mm F1.4 is characteristically compact for Samyang and is designed to be very lightweight despite its solid metal housing. Slip-on filter systems or screw filters can be attached to the 67 mm thread, opening up further possibilities. The interior of this lens consists of 9 glass elements arranged in 8 groups, allowing for a close focusing distance of just 45 mm. Three aspherical lenses reduce chromatic aberrations and imaging errors, ensuring high imaging performance. This results in sharp images with vibrant contrasts and natural colors. The construction is completed with a multi-layer coating that avoids reflections and ghosting.
